The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Program includes basic and limited advanced skills focused on the acute management and transportation of critical and emergent patients. Studies include pharmacological interventions, airway management, and intravenous therapy. This program follows the guidelines set by the National Scope of Practice Model. It is designed to prepare individuals for licensure as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician by the Tennessee Department of Health, Division of Health Licensure and Regulation, Office of Emergency Medical Services. Students can sit for the National Registry certification and TN practical skills examinations after completion.
