Students whose total financial aid is greater than the cost of tuition and fees may be entitled to a refund of the excess aid. Excess financial aid may be used to charge required books to the student account.
Key information:
- You must attend all classes before your aid can be disbursed.
- Refunds are generally issued the third week after classes begin. Students who are enrolled in late start terms will not receive a refund until after late sessions have started and attendance is verified for all classes.
- Students must do a Title IV authorization to allow financial aid to be used for books.
- For 15 week courses - Books may be charged the week before classes begin and during the first two weeks of classes.
- For 4, 7 and 10 week courses - Books may be charged the week before classes begin and during the first week of classes.
- JSCC Campus Bookstore (Follett) will email instructions the week before classes begin.
- Book charges are only available through the Campus Bookstore (in store or online).
- Refund amounts are reduced by the charged book costs.
- This authorization is necessary only one time per academic year.
