Welcome to the Academic Assistance Center (AAC) at Jackson State Community College, your academic support and resources hub. Located on the second floor of the Library, the AAC offers a wide range of services designed to help you succeed in your studies. Whether you need tutoring, access to computers and Wi-Fi, or testing services, we provide the tools and guidance you need to achieve your educational goals. Services Offered:

Computer Lab

The Academic Assistance Center (AAC) computer lab provides JSCC students free access to 48 computers for classwork and course-related printing. The lab offers software including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Clip Champ, Microsoft Visual Studio Premium, Lockdown Browsers, FileZilla FTP Client, Read&Write, Cisco Packet Tracer, VLC Media Player, and Zoom. Additionally, staff members can assist with computer operations and application software.

AAC Peer Tutoring

The AAC offers JSCC students FREE tutoring in as many disciplines as we can enlist tutors. To request a tutor, please fill out the Tutoring Request form. Ms. Jeannette Stone will work with you to set an appropriate appointment.

AAC Supplemental Materials

The Academic Assistance Center (AAC) has over 50 videos, CDs, and DVDs on Anatomy and Physiology that can be viewed there. In addition, the AAC has over 530 Nursing Videos, CDs, and DVDs for viewing in the center. Several computers and video players are reserved for use with these materials.

JSCC Online Class Testing 

If the instructor chooses for their online class to test in the Academic Assistance Center (AAC):

  • A Jackson State Community College ID is required for the test
  • Personal items, such as, phones, book bags, books, papers, coats, caps, watches, and purses will be secured in lockers. No personal items are allowed in the testing areas.
  • Children are not allowed in the AAC or left unattended in the Library. Students are advised to make arrangements for their children before arriving for testing.
  • The AAC is open Monday – Thursday from 7:30 A.M. until 7:45 P.M. and Friday from 7:30 A.M. to 4:15 P.M
  • If students are planning to test at the Lexington, Savannah, or Gibson County Center, they should check the Center’s specific testing hours and arrive early enough to complete the exam before the Center closes.

TN eCampus Testing

For TN eCampus students:

  • Arrange for proctor in advance by scheduling a date and time with the Testing Clerk
  • Give your instructor JSCC’s Testing Clerk’s contact information
  • BRING A VALID PICTURE ID TO EVERY TEST, such as, a college ID or driver license
  • Personal items, such as, phones, book bags, books, papers, coats, caps, watches, and purses will be secured in lockers. No personal items are allowed in the testing areas.
  • Children are not permitted in the AAC or left unattended in the Library. Students are advised to make arrangements for their children before arriving for testing.
  • The AAC is open Monday – Thursday from 7:30 A.M. until 7:45 P.M. and Friday from 7:30 A.M. to 4:15 P.M
  • If testing in Lexington, Savannah, or Gibson County, please check the testing hours for the individual Centers.
  • Please arrive at the assigned times to complete exams before your chosen campus closes.

Courtesy Exams

Courtesy exams require an appointment to be made by contacting the Academic Assistance Center at 731-425-2614 or Marietta Hill, mhill16@jscc.edu. A $20 fee is to be paid in the Jackson State Business Office.
