Application
Q. How do I apply to JSCC?

- Go to jscc.edu and click “Apply” in the upper left-hand corner of the page. Select “Create an Account” under “First-time Users” to create your application profile. A temporary PIN will be sent to your email address.
Q. I’ve attended JSCC before. Do I need to submit another application?

- Yes, you will need to submit a new application if you did not attend the previous semester (excluding summer).
- When creating a new application, select “Readmit” as your student type.
- Any previously submitted transcripts will still be on file. A new copy of your Driver’s License/ID/Birth Certificate must be submitted again.
- Previously enrolled Dual Enrollment student are NOT readmit students. You will apply as a “First Time Freshman.”
Q: I submitted an application for one term, but I would like to start sooner/later. Do I have to submit a new application?

- Email admissions@jscc.edu to request to have your term changed. Please include your name, JNumber or date of birth, and the term you would like to switch to.
- You may only do one change of term per application.
Q: I am currently attending another college/university, but I want to take a class at JSCC.

- You will submit a regular application and select “Transient” as your student type.
Q: I don’t know my student username or JNumber/how do I access my acceptance letter?

- You can log into your application portal to access your acceptance letter at any time. The email and password will be the same as the login you created to submit your application. The letter will contain your JNumber and student email address with instructions on how to activate your Netlogon.
- If you would like a copy of your acceptance letter printed, you can submit a Records Request Form.
Transcripts
Q: I need a copy of my transcript/need my transcript sent somewhere.

- Electronic Transcripts can be requested from com (The National Student Clearinghouse).
- Physical transcripts can be requested with the Records Request Form. (This form is NOT for emailed transcripts.)
Q: How do I send my transcripts to JSCC?

- All transcripts must be sent to us directly from the school via mail, email, or electronic transcript service (ex. National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, etc.). Please contact your former schools to request these to be sent to us. If you are a degree-seeking student, you must provide transcripts from ALLschools you have attended. We do NOT accept diplomas.

Q: If I received my GED or HiSET, how can I send my credentials to JSCC?

- If you received your GED/HiSET in Tennessee, you can order an official copy from com to be sent directly to JSCC.
- If your GED/HiSET is not available through DiplomaSender, you will need to request it from your testing location.
Q: I’ve never attended JSCC, but another school is asking for my transcript. How do I request a letter of non-attendance?

- Please fill out an enrollment verification form and return it to us. In the “Information needing to be verified” section, write that you are requesting a “Letter of Non-Attendance.”
Q: I went to a school that has closed permanently. How can I get an official transcript?

- Transcripts for closed institutions in Tennessee can be ordered from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC).
- If the closed institution is outside of Tennessee, transcripts are typically held by that state’s Department of Education.
Updating Student Records
Q: How do I update my address?

- Please complete a change of information request and return it to us with a photo of your Driver’s License/ID. The address on the ID does not have to match your current address.
Q: How do I update my phone number and my Authenticator login?

- Please complete a change of information request and return it to us. After your number has been updated, please contact OIT at (731) 424-3520 ext. 50294 to have your Authenticator reset.
Q: How do I update my name in JSCC’s records?

- Please complete a change of information request and return it to us with TWO forms of identification showing your new name (ex: driver’s license, birth certificate, marriage certificate, social security card, divorce decree, court-issued name change document).
Q: How do I update my email address?

- Please complete a change of information request and return it to us.
Q: How do I change my major?

- If you are a current student, log into jWeb and look under “Student” on the left-hand menu and click “Change Major” to submit a change of major request. The form is also located on the Admissions and Records Forms
- If you have not been accepted yet, you can update your major in your application portal.
