This course is designed to equip learners with the essential skills to create effective and engaging presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint. Participants will learn to navigate the PowerPoint interface, design visually appealing slides, incorporate multimedia elements, and deliver polished presentations. Through hands-on exercises and practical examples, learners will gain confidence in using PowerPoint to communicate their ideas clearly and persuasively.

This is a one-day non-credit course offered through the Workforce Solutions department of JSCC. Non-credit courses are not eligible for financial aid, and college admission is not required.

    • Navigating the PowerPoint window

Working with Slides

  • Adding and Deleting Slides
    • Adding new slides
    • Deleting slides
    • Rearranging slide order
  • Formatting Slides
    • Choosing a slide layout
    • Adding text and formatting it
    • Adding images and shapes
    • Applying background formats and themes

Designing Effective Slides

  • Design Principles for Effective Slides
    • Using a consistent design theme
    • Choosing appropriate fonts and colors
    • Using white space effectively
    • Keeping slides simple and clear
  • Adding Visual Elements
    • Inserting images, shapes, and SmartArt graphics
    • Creating charts and tables
    • Using multimedia elements (audio and video)

Enhancing Presentations with Effects

  • Adding Transitions and Animations
