The Jackson State Community College (JSCC) Foundation is set to host its third annual Tacos, Tecates & Scholarships fundraiser on October 10 from 6-9 p.m. at Skillet Junction in Downtown Jackson.

All proceeds raised from this event go toward the Tacos, Tecates & Scholarships fund to support Jackson State Community College through Foundation scholarships. Last year, the JSCC Foundation was able to provide $53,438.00 in total scholarships.

“Our community continues to make this event a great success with last year’s event raising over $4,100 in scholarships for our students,” said JSCC Foundation Director of Donor Relations and Programs Lindsey Tritt. “Tacos & Tecates is an open event where all are welcome. Whether you’re connected to Jackson State or just looking to have a good time, we invite you to come out and help the next generation of college students. This year, we’re adding more live entertainment to keep you dancing the night away. This is an event you don’t want to miss.”

Tickets for the event are $45 per person and include two drink tickets as well as made-to-order tacos. There will also be music and salsa dancing throughout the evening with salsa lessons provided by JSCC faculty.

To purchase tickets for Tacos, Tecates & Scholarships or make donations to the fund, visit jscc.edu/tacos.

All ticket sales and donations are considered a tax-write off, and a donation form can be provided upon request.

Foundation mission

Jackson State Community College has educated over three generations of West Tennesseans since opening its doors in 1967. The JSCC Foundation was later established in 1977 to support the college’s mission and enhance the growth and development of JSCC. Since then, the Foundation has financially impacted the lives of countless students through its fundraising efforts.
