Bushart joins the Green Jay family after a standout season at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, where he helped guide the Norse volleyball program to a 33-8 record and a top-25 national ranking in 2024. His role focused on developing middle blockers, including a First-Team NJCAA All-American, while also managing game operations, recruiting, fundraising, and digital content for the program. |
Prior to his time at NEO, Bushart served as a volunteer assistant coach at Christian Brothers University, where he oversaw team social media, developed practice plans, and managed athlete performance data. In addition to his collegiate experience, he has also coached at the club level and held various roles in collegiate athletic communications.
“Nick brings a unique blend of marketing expertise and on-court coaching experience that will help elevate our volleyball program both competitively and in the community,” said Head Volleyball Coach Alexis Kapales. “He’s a tremendous addition to our staff.”

Becky Bennett joined Jackson State in November 2024 and has been instrumental in supporting the development of the men’s and women’s cross-country teams. She previously worked alongside Head Coach Arthur Priddy at University School of Jackson during the 2023-24 academic year, where she played a key role in athlete training and team management. |
Prior to coaching at USJ, Bennett resided in Toledo, OH where she coached Cross-Country for 17 years at various levels. During her coaching tenure she was not only a coach but was the commissioner of the program that she successfully grew, directing meets with over 900 runners and supporting many coaches along the way. Bennett is a dedicated runner driven by a genuine love for the sport.
“Coach Bennett is no stranger to the Green Jay way,” said Coach Priddy. “Her dedication, connection with student-athletes, and tireless work ethic have already made an impact in our program.”
With the addition of Bushart and Bennett, Jackson State Community College continues its commitment to building competitive programs while fostering excellence in student-athlete development.
