Brainfuse
If we don't currently offer tutoring in your subject area, Brainfuse has you covered. This free online tutoring service connects you with live tutors in a wide range of subjects, including math, science, writing, and more. Brainfuse is available right from your computer or mobile device. Submit a question for review or connect in real time, and get the support you need to keep moving forward in your coursework.
Academic Navigators
The JSCC Learning Commons now hosts a team of Academic Navigators. They offer an extra layer of support to help students in specific gateway courses.
Math Navigators work primarily with students in Math for General Studies (MATH 1010) & Introductory Statistics (MATH 1530), and they can also assist with a variety of other MATH courses. Writing Navigators work primarily with students in Comp 1 (ENGL 1010), and they can also assist with a variety of writing assignments across other courses.
Academic Navigators can help you:
- Stay on track in those tougher early courses
- Connect with tutoring and other Learning Commons resources
- Navigate questions about class expectations and success strategies
