The Medical Coding Certificate Program is designed for students pursuing an entry-level position in medical coding. This career includes compiling, processing, and maintaining hospital and clinic medical records in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the healthcare system. After completing this certificate program, students can take the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) examination from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
Admissions Requirements
- Be admitted to the college.
- You must have completed credit in college-level courses OR have ACT minimum sub scores of Reading 19, English 18, and Math 19 OR acceptable placement test scores OR have completed all learning support competencies (if applicable).
