Learn more about the Teaching Program

The Teaching Pathway at Jackson State Community College is designed for students planning to complete the first two years of their bachelor’s degree in a community college setting before transferring to a four-year institution for a teaching career in elementary education. Students interested in secondary education should focus on a specific discipline, such as history, to tailor their education to that subject area. For example, students aspiring to teach high school history should pursue an associate degree with an emphasis on history.
