The AMT Club supports students in the Engineering Systems Technology Program by fostering a strong sense of community and professional growth. Members promote manufacturing awareness, recruit new students to the program, and serve as ambassadors for the field of advanced manufacturing. The club is dedicated to campus and community service, providing opportunities for hands-on involvement, skill development, and engagement across the JSCC community.

Learn more about the AMT Co-Op

The Art Club, founded in 1996, is open to all JSCC students who are interested in art. This organization promotes the appreciation and practice of the visual arts both on our campus and in the community.  The club encourages cultural enrichment by providing experiences with guest artists, workshops, and field trips.  Each year the club has fund-raisers to assist in defraying the cost of art trips.  The club has visited art museums in Chicago, Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, and St Louis.

 

The purposes of this organization include:

 

• Encouragement of the visual arts among JSCC students, faculty, and the community at large

 

• Providing an outlet for work and exposure in the visual arts among students and the JSCC community

 

• Expanding learning activities among its members by club activities

 

• Providing a forum for dialogue art-interested students and faculty at JSCC

The Black Student Association (BSA) empowers, enriches, encourages, and educates students of Jackson State Community College through cultural enrichment and community engagement. BSA provides a welcoming space for students to celebrate Black culture, foster connection, and develop both academic and life skills. Through events ranging from educational programs and awareness initiatives to creative outlets like poetry nights and art projects, BSA promotes expression, leadership, and cultural pride on campus and within the community.

The Cheer Club promotes school spirit, teamwork, and leadership through performance and collaboration. Members build unity through team-building activities and a supportive environment that encourages personal growth both on and off the mat. The club enhances campus pride by performing at games, pep rallies, orientations, and special events, while also engaging in volunteer opportunities such as mentoring local youth cheer programs. Through these efforts, the Cheer Club fosters confidence, camaraderie, and community involvement.

Lexington Area Student Services Organization (LASSO) is dedicated to serving the community through outreach and volunteer initiatives that make a meaningful impact. The organization leads projects such as a chili cook-off, canned food drive, coat collection for those in need, baskets for the elderly, and seasonal events like Trunk or Treat, costume contests, and Easter egg hunts. Through these efforts, members build leadership skills, foster campus and community connections, and embody the spirit of service.

The National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) at JSCC fosters fellowship, academic growth, and professional development among nursing students. As part of a national organization, members gain access to valuable learning resources, mentorship opportunities, and academic support, as well as exclusive discounts and networking connections. The chapter promotes service and engagement through activities such as fundraisers, awareness initiatives, and wellness projects—including breast cancer awareness events and self-care campaigns during finals week.

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges, recognizing academic excellence and fostering student growth in fellowship, leadership, scholarship, and service. The JSCC chapter works to increase member engagement, including provisional members, while completing initiatives that uphold its five-star status through PTK headquarters. Members participate in service projects, leadership development, and campus initiatives such as the College Project, which strengthen relationships with administration and support student success in transfer and scholarship opportunities.

 

Students with a 3.25 or higher GPA and at least 12 college credit hours are invited to join Phi Theta Kappa. Eligible students will receive a membership invitation email from a PTK advisor during the first few weeks of each semester. Members pay a one-time membership fee of $80.00, which helps to fund scholarships, conventions, and our local chapter's activities.
