President Dr. Carol A. Rothstein
Jackson State Community College’s (JSCC) recently appointed president, Dr. Carol A. Rothstein, has been selected to participate in the Tennessee State Collaborative on Reforming Education’s (SCORE) Complete Tennessee Leadership Institute (CLTI).
Rothstein is one of twenty-six participants selected for CLTI’s 8th cohort. The cohort is comprised of educators working in higher education, K-12, business, and nonprofit sectors with a shared goal of making a substantial impact on the future of education in Tennessee through postsecondary attainment advocacy. CLTI was created by Tennessee’s SCORE and The Hunt Institute to provide participants with strategies they can utilize to address barriers to postsecondary completion in Tennessee.
“I’m pleased to serve alongside my fellow educational colleagues from across the state in this year’s cohort,” said Dr. Rothstein. “This organization has increased access to higher education through the work and continued education of its annual cohorts. The knowledge and strategies we gain from this program will be invaluable and will help to ensure we, as educators, are doing everything we can to open new doors for our students.”
CLTI allows members of the cohort to develop regional advocacy strategies using key higher education and workforce data to address issues with postsecondary attainment. It aims to remove obstacles that limit access to postsecondary education and to ensure students are earning degrees and credentials that adequately prepare them for their careers.
The 2023-24 cohort is the first to be paired in regional groups with the goal of building strategies to specifically address disparities and equity gaps for students within the regions of East, Middle, and West Tennessee.
Rothstein will represent West Tennessee in the cohort.
