The Jackson State Community College (JSCC) Police Department recently partnered with Advanced Police Concepts to host Leadership for Front-Line Supervisors and certified 21 individual officers as part of the two-day course.
This training, conducted at the JSCC Jackson Campus, marks the first time for JSCC to host a non-credit training of this caliber that is geared specifically toward law enforcement. The two-day course was instructed by Lieutenant Marc Plourde of the Gainesville, Florida Police Department and designed for current or aspiring police supervisors and focused on understanding and developing the qualities and characteristics necessary to be an effective leader.
“This was a great opportunity for the law enforcement community across the region to receive top-tier training from a nationally recognized organization,” said JSCC Chief of Police Aaron Patton. “Officers from Kentucky, Missouri, and across Tennessee were able to receive this training on a premiere college campus thanks to this partnership, and that’s not something you see with many of these trainings. We’re proud to host these officers and look forward to offering more training courses to fulfill the need across our region.”
Officers from the following 11 departments took part in the training:
This training was Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission certified and was submitted by Chief Patton who holds a police instructor certification as both a general department instructor and as a training officer.
