St. Patrick’s Day 5K Coming to Hub City
October 24, 2024
The Jackson State Community College Foundation is set to host its inaugural Green & Gold, St. Patty’s 5K + Fun Run on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Jackson Rockabilly’s Stadium.
Competitive runners are invited to race in this chip timed event with male and female overall division winners being awarded, along with a 1st – 3rd winners circle categories for each age division. Runners will race through the Jackson Rockabillys’ property, finishing at the home plate inside of the stadium.
A Leprechaun fun run will take place during the event, with awards given for the best costume, best themed team, and best overall. Runners are encouraged to show off their St. Patrick’s Day spirit for this fun run with children and adults of all ages invited to participate.
“Join us as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a fun event for the whole family,” said Lindsey Tritt, Director of Donor Relations and Programs. “Green and Gold are our colors, so we felt it was only fitting to do a St. Patrick’s Day event that we can grow each year. We look forward to seeing what people come up with for our fun run, and to see some of our local running clubs come out and support a good cause.”
All proceeds from the event will support the JSCC Foundation in reinforcing an initiative to cover the cost of student textbooks for new and current JSCC students.
On-site registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the 5K taking place promptly at 11 a.m. The Leprechaun half mile will start shortly after the 5K runners begin.
Those who pre-register by February 15th will get a commemorative runner’s shirt.
Tickets are on sale now at jscc.edu/stpatty5k
A discounted $20 student runner registration is available for high school and college runners with proof of student ID by emailing ltritt2@jscc.edu.
Food and drink will be available inside the stadium along with live entertainment.
